My dentist started doing Invisalign two years ago, so last week, I asked him for Invisalign to close a small gap between my teeth. He did a 3-D scan on my teeth and found other minor issues with alignment. He is recommending upper and lower Invisalign aligners. The whole process is going to take just over a year. I told my dentist that minor alignment issues with my teeth are not as important as closing the gap. I only want to close the gap for now. Maybe I shouldn’t have gone into the office asking for Invisalign. My dentist mumbled something about veneers. I looked online at the cost, and two veneers are almost as expensive as Invisalign. How I convince him only to correct my upper teeth with Invisalign? – Aly
Aly – If your dentist insists that Invisalign® is the only way to close a small gap, he or she lacks the skill and artistic ability to conceal the gap with dental composite.
Dr. Reddy would need access to the digital model of your teeth to determine how long it would take to close the gap with Invisalign. But Invisalign isn’t the only way to close a gap. Although Dr. Reddy is an Invisalign Platinum Provider, when appropriate, she uses alternative dental technology to close small gaps between teeth.
Bioclear® vs. Invisalign®
It’s easier, faster, and less expensive to close small gaps with dental bonding. But only an advanced cosmetic dentist can make your teeth look proportionate and match the bonding with your natural teeth.
Artistic cosmetic dentists mix shades of composite to mimic the characteristics of your natural teeth. But there is new technology—Bioclear—that uses flowable composite. This process results in highly accurate, long-lasting bonding.

Bioclear closes spaces between teeth and reshapes and rejuvenates them
We suggest that you look for an advanced cosmetic dentist. Even if you don’t find a nearby dentist who offers Bioclear, you’ll be able to find an artistic dentist who can skillfully close the gap with bonding. Search a few cosmetic dentists’ websites and look for patient photos of their work with composite bonding.
